from fancy to fugly?

my rational gut instinct is that these are heinous (mostly because one would be paying $95 for plastic shoes that were the pinnacle of early elementary school fashion in 1988). then of course the brand whore in me goes "hmmmm, potentially cute... kind of like Crocs for people with a lick of fashion sense."

obviously my inner-brand-whore needs to be poisoned immediately.

thoughts?

fyi: i'm not actually considering purchasing these (ew!) - just some fashion food for thought!

  1. I'm just not a huge fan of Tori Burch stuff...some of it really strikes me as cute, but most of it...I see lots of dollar signs and little kids in China probably making the stuff. Hopefully I'm wrong, but nevertheless I'm just not a huge designer fan these days...unless they do some stuff for Target (and other affordable stores), too...

  3. i'd go with the "$95 for plastic shoes" part of your brain.

plus, imagine all the uncomfortable foot sweat! at least crocs (which i hate) and the 1988 jellies have holes for some air to get in and circulate.

  5. Oh how I loved me some "jellies" back in the late 80s. Mom refused to buy them... thankfully Grams was easily "charmed" by me. I was the proud owner of several heinous "basket weave" strap-around-the-heel variations in assorted awful glitter injected colors. Yikes.

  6. hmmm, I don't know... They do indeed remind me of the jelly shoe from 20 years ago. I don't think I love them

  7. Not feeling these at all! I agree, they remind me of shoes we wore back in the 80's! Not a good look.

  8. I agree... I couldn't pay $95 for some jellies, no matter who made them. They scream "1980's kid's pool party"

  9. I love Tory Burch stuff, but these aren't that cute. They look plastic (I know that sounds weird) but paying that much for plastic is a little hard to swallow.
