i fear i'll only get one chance to say this...

... so thank you Internal Revenue Service for my sweet refund! i know its just downhill from here on out, so i'll gloat while i still can.

and in the meantime, we will be combining said-USA-re-gift-of-our-own-money with the fabu registry deals offered to couples post-wedding.

{small piece of advice: a week before your wedding, register for ridiculous things that you know no one will buy you but that you would like to purchase yourself for 10%-15% off... hence all the rugs and rug-pads left on our lists}

so its shop-til-we-drop Housewares Style (aaaaaand maybe a little Saks Friends & Family - shhhhhhhh!) this weekend... here are the contenders:

any suggestions?

we're also planning on seeing Sunshine Cleaning tonight at the Angelika (every theater should sell wine and beer!) - i'm totally pumped!

  2. All the theaters I have been to here in Germany serve wine, champagne, and beer. You should move! :)

  3. I wish I could reregister! I feel like i was so overwhelmed with getting a house together and everything that i never really sat and thought about what exactly we wanted... and i put some cheap things on there because i didn't want anyone to think i was greedy! BIG mistake!

  4. T and I were talking about seeing a movie tonight too - and we love those gals. Plus, 'SC' was filmed in ABQ and it's unmistakable in the trailer. So if you hear a loud drunken makeout somewhere in the theater, it just might be us!! hahaha.

  6. Wish I would have figured this out back in my registry day. This is good advice to any engaged types reading this.

    Movie theaters that serve drinks is high on the list of things I like about moving to Texas. T

  8. It's possible we got a bad one, but we wound up returning that wine chiller (just felt obligated to share). But we have a similar grill/panini maker and its the greatest thing ever!

  11. Crate and Barrel allowed us to add items to our registry even after the wedding (while at the store) and then gave us the 10% discount. So if you're at the store and there is stuff not on your registry give it a try.

    Also we got the Wustof knives and then upgraded and added some from their Gourmet line - there is such a HUGE difference. The gourmet stuff is good!

  12. I would skip the chiller. Everything I've read about it says it doesn't chill really well. I bought one for a wedding gift before I read the reviews and I've felt bad ever since. Maybe they've changed it since then though.

  14. Skip the chiller and I'll send you mine. It chills but it takes damn near forever and is loud. You're better off sticking that bottle of Gruet in the freezer if you want to drink it that night.

  15. If you get the paisley bedding, would you consider posting a picture of it? I know it is weird to put pictures of your bedroom on the internet, but my boyfriend LOVES that bedding but I just cannot picture it working out in the real world (a la in a room not styled by Pottery Barn). Also, we have the wine chiller...it takes about the same amount of time to chill as putting it in the fridge. Such a letdown.

  16. I love the paisley bedding. Stupid DH says paisley is for girls... and he can't get a good nights rest in girl sheets. (Funny, he's made it allllll these years in my pink/orange pottery barn bedding and has managed to act preeeeety happy).

    Regardless, he won't "have" it for our master bedroom. I had to go with the hotel collections 'rings'. Much more man friendly. Hope Evs is more understanding.
