le creuset, le crush

is it totally bizarre that i am currently salivating over all things le creuset? i never thought cooking apparatus aesthetics would make me giddy... but something about the bright, punchy colors and the sturdy, vintage-y heft to the pieces makes me smile.

we registered for several le creuset items and they were among the few things we (i) really wanted but didn't receive. and now those Williams-Sonoma returns and gift certificates are totally burning a hole in my pocket!

so while i'm chained to my desk late-night, i'll think happy thoughts of ramekins and double-broilers!

is it the weekend yet?

  2. Oh you MUST! It's probably my most expensive habit, but I justify it because it lasts forever and I'm too casual to covet expensive bags, so in my head it's a tradeoff ;-).

Start with the 5.5-qt dutch oven. It'll be your workhorse in the kitchen and is the perfect size for what you'd probably need. Unless you need a tea kettle anyway, then grab one. I have one in flame. I have lots and lots of gorgeous flame. Sigh...

ps: Lots of cooking/cookware talk ahead if that lil 'ol blog ever gets here...!

  6. I am so excited to be engaged so I can finally register for le creuset. Deciding on a color is definitely going to be one of the harder wedding planning decisions.

  9. I loove Le Creuset... if only I could afford it! My favorite color is the light (Caribbean?) blue. My TJ Maxx had some random stuff when I went there today... I would have grabbed some if I hadn't already spent the entire bank there.

  16. I love them...My Hubby is lucky that there is not a Williams-Sonoma here in town.
I registered for a few pieces for the wedding and got one small dutch oven. But the Dillards was closing and I checked out their sale and found a 5 qt dutch oven for only $105 dollars. Begged Hubby to let me spend some of our wedding gift card money on it. He gave in and I have used it constantly.
This past Christmas I got a 6.5 qt oval dutch oven from my great aunt. I love love love them.

It is totally worth it to get atleast one piece with the gift cards. I would reccommend a versitale piece in the 5-6.5 qt range.

I am still holding out for the grill pan and tea kettle.
