friday porn

one week later, this spread keeps popping into my mind.  and every time it does, its like champagne bubbles tickling my tongue and i have to give a silent squeal of glee for the perfectness of it all.

styled by the ever fabulous Summer from Grey Likes Weddings (which reminds me... i owe you about 37 FV posts, Summer - hugest apologies and oodles of air kisses!), this glorious "faux wedding" was created for a photography workshop hosted by Jessica Claire.

i have to admit, i've grown a wee bit tired of "Marie Antoinette" themed fetes of late - while they're fun, i just can't get past that whole "Reign of Terror Ordeal."  in other words, while the execution (pun!  get it?  guillotine? execution?!!  okay, stopping now) is always fabulous, the source of the inspiration leaves me a bit wary.

but. BUT.  this is fantastical!  much more Vintage than Gilded French, i see no vestiges of the overplayed, "Let Them Eat Cake" tidbits.

absolutely loving the mismatched chairs, the hot air balloons in the trees, the antique-y cake cart with the newspaper toppers, and the Anthropologie initial mugs (i have a "K" one!) filled with flowers. i just want to put it all into a little diorama to keep on my desk for those gloomy days.

check out behind the scenes from the workshop on Brandon Kidd's blog!

  2. Ahh yes, the Marie Antoinette theme. I think this is actually why we get along so well.

"Please, can I pleasepleaseplease theme my wedding after a woman who said 'Let them eat cake' when no one had any bread? After all, the day is ALL ABOUT ME!"

  6. Such pretty and inspirational images! Don't you wish you could have a couple different weddings with completely different themes? Of course, I wouldn't want to divorced just to have another wedding ceremony...that would be silly...

  8. Hahaha!!! Yay for getting to style photo shoots...it's like planning my own wedding vicariously. And I get to keep doing it. Thanks for the sweet post. And I love that people picked up on the french vibe. I had initially wanted to head that direction, but felt it got a little lost by the end. I hadn't cared, but I giggle when people see French in it. Hehehe.
