Me & Dolly...

... both workin' 9 to 5!

Yep, today I was offered the job I've been interviewing for and I accepted!  I am seriously thrilled - I couldn't even think of a semi-sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek way to announce my return to the workforce, so Dolly Does Disney will have to suffice!

I've had a lot of questions about what exactly this job entails.  Here's what I feel comfortable sharing: I will be joining a small team of in-house attorneys for a really, really wonderful domestic violence non-profit in the DFW area.  I feel like this type of lawyering is what I went to law school to do, so I'm ridiculously excited about the transition!  I will also have the opportunity to use my Spanish daily, so I'm really looking forward to regaining my fluency!

Okay.  I think that's enough Pollyanna-ing and gratuitous exclamation points for one day!  Off to celebrate with Vinho Verde, Olympic Fest 2010, and perhaps some Teen Mom, latenight!

Dammit.  There I go again.

  7. Congratulations! This job sounds like a really great opportunity to make a difference and grow with your espanol skills. Thanks in advance for the progress you will be making for women --both as an advocate for others and as a presence on the legal team. (Not to say that domestic violence is limited to a female issue, but you know).
