carolina girls, best in the world!

Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. T!!!

What a ridiculously fun weekend! The couple really couldn't have been more adorable, and relaxing with friends I hadn't seen in years was such a pleasure! There's also just something about being back in the Carolinas that makes me breathe a little easier and smile a little bigger - a home away from Texas... a place with too many good memories to count.

Here's to all those fond recollections, and here's to these new ones!

Thursday Arrival and Welcome Party

Our gator friend in the lagoon outside our room
Relaxing at the bride's beach house

Bridal Luncheon

Beach Parties!

Carrie: Always Industrious!

Rehearsal Dinner

Toasting the Bride & Groom
The Shoe Game!
The "Groom's Cake" for the RD Dessert After Party
Love & SAO... Still Raisin' Hell, 5 Years Later!

The Wedding Day!

Gettin' strapped in!
I am a Giantess
Hey Fossils, Fossils...

Siblings / In-Laws
So long!  Farewell!

Apologies for the somewhat undescriptive post, but I'm still tuckered out from all that shagging (get your mind out of the gutter and Netflix this movie if you're scratching your head or muttering "that's what she said" to yourself) and oyster shucking and beach gabbing!  I promise I'll be All Systems Go tomorrow...

{and no, I did not ostracize Evs from every single photo... Sadly, he had his own nuptial shindig to attend this weekend - I missed the ol' bugger, though!}

  9. I have not seen Shag in ages! That was a definite in the high school rotation of Shag, Grease, Dazed and Confused and Mall Rats. I LOVE the dress you wore to the wedding- esp with the lipstick- looks great!

  10. Other side note- Hubs loves Carolina Girls (song, not people), being from NC. He even had the audacity to suggest it as our wedding song. I was affronted as I am a Tennessee with a dash of Georgia girl. Hmmphhh.

  14. Love all of your dresses... but I especially love the one you wore to the bridal luncheon... how sad that you and EVS had separate weddings to attend! But so glad you had fun anyway!

  15. Love the dress you wore to the wedding. Details please! My fingers are crossed that it is still available. We're heading to a Carolina wedding in a few weeks (Ocracoke Island) and I'm in desperate need of wedding attire!! Glad you had fun :)

  16. So fun! It's always fun to attend old friends' weddings! Looks like this one was no exception! And good thing you had that gator bodyguard!

  17. I must have watched Shag a million times when I was 14. And it's true, no one seems to know that movie when I mention it! Tragedy!!

On a side note, am I the only North Carolina girl who gets irritated with the term "the Carolinas"? North Carolina and South Carolina are not one entity. But then it also bugs me when people say "Appalachia" as though people who live in the mountains of West Virginia and the mountains of Georgia think of themselves as being from the same place.

Ok, that was, perhaps, too much. :-) I'm probably just jealous that you got to go to the beach! Looks like so much fun!!

  19. Can I just comment on the fact that I LOVE the movie Shag! I have gotten three people to watch it over the years and everyone has hated it! Glad to hear I'm not the only one with love for it :) Ha!

  20. Great photos! I love the dresses you wore that weekend! And since you were discussing hair color last week, I think going a shade or two darker wouldn't be a bad idea and would complement your skin tone. Either way, your hair will look great!

  21. Great photos and I LOVE your hair!

  22. Thanks for sharing all of the great pics, it looks like a fabulous wedding. It definitely got me excited for the start of our wedding season that's right around the corner!

  23. Can you tell us how you styled your hair for the wedding day? It looks GORGEOUS, and somewhat easy. Easy enough that I might in fact be able to re-create it, and I have a wedding to attend this weekend and no hair skills. Love your dress too! Looks like it was a fabulous time.

  24. Amy - Thank you! I think the beachy weather had something to do with how the hair turned out b/c frankly it sort of organically happened (that, and I was a bit tipsy so I wasn't functioning at my primping peak!). I washed, combed Dove mousse through it, blew it dry with a round brush, and then zipped a curling iron through big random chunks for a few seconds a piece... then I pinned up my bangs and went with it!

  25. Thanks for the info! That sounds easy enough, so easy that I may actually be able to do it.
