almost-friday {christmas} porn

I've started, saved, and left unfinished about 6 posts this week. It seems I'm paralyzed with indecision... as was the case this afternoon, standing in the middle of West Elm, mouth agape at the seasonal decor possibilities.

I've attempted Mockingbird Station four times this week, with an aim to invest in some more modern holiday decorations to mix in with my favorite hand-me-downs.  Saturday, Sunday, and Monday found me bested by the December Parking Wars... Thursday afternoon: Success!

But what to pick?  Sleek and mirrored?  Natural and casual?  OVERWHELMENCE!  {not a real word.} Then the adorable salesgirl with the absolute perfect shade of strawberry blond locks complimented my skirt, and I got all kerflummoxed in my attempt to Appear As If I "Do" Home Decor and I must have blacked out from sensory overload because all of a sudden I found myself back in my car, clutching yet another set of mercury glass hurricanes to my bosom... yet 'nary a Christmas trinket in sight.

Blimey.

Anyhoo.  Where was I... oh right.  New material... I gots nuttin'.

So I'll just go ahead and cop out with The Obligatory Christmas List Post.  I might as well get it out of the way, as I'm pretty sure THEY take your blog away if you fail to do one each year.

  2. Love the gloves. My list is one totally materialistic, serves a very small purpose, but makes me so happy so I don't care item- Kate Spade Charm heels. Because, those heels? Are MADE for me. How can you not love them?

And, yes...I already got them (on huge sale) and they now sit under the tree waiting for me!

  9. I got my husband How to Cook Everything a few months ago, and he uses it all the time. It's wonderful! Now we can make Chinese food that actually tastes Chinese! There's also an iPhone app that has all the recipes, which is handy for making a shopping list while on the go.
