Be warned.
I am about to show you 31 photographs of our wedding album.
If Kate's Wedding Worship is not a stanza in your own personal rendition of These Are a Few of My Favorite Things (in which case... uh, POR QUE NO?), you might want to come back tomorrow when we'll be worshipping my Christmas card.
Yesterday, serendipitously, on the three year anniversary of our engagement, our wedding album arrived! Picture 20 months of anticipation morphed into 16 pounds of coffeetable masterpiece...
Me encanta.
J'adore.
I don't know how to say LOVE LOVE LOVE in any other languages, but...
LOVE LOVE LOVE.
The decision to pull the trigger on a professionally designed and produced wedding album wasn't easy on our wallets, but, in the grand scheme of things, wasn't a tough one to make either. Photography was a high priority for me when planning our nuptials... I wanted every detail, moment, glance, touch, memory captured on film, and when we chose Stacy Sodolak to memorialize our celebration, I knew her photographs would speak to the entire feeling of the day. With a good chunk of our budget allocated to Stacy's gorgeous work, it made sense to go the extra mile and let her take the reins once again to create our wedding album.
The final product was well worth the wait and expense. This evening, our album immediately shot to the top of the Material Stuff I'd Save in a Fire list.

Huge thanks again to Stacy Sodolak of SMS Photography for being the best damn wedding photographer around! And, as always, to Gina with Clink for making our wedding day an absolute dream... I should probably just set myself a yearly Outlook reminder... "Sing Stacy & Gina's Praises"... lather, rinse, repeat!
Did y'all go the professional route with your wedding album? Or did you DIY? Make-Your-Own recommendations appreciated as that's my plan for our parents' albums!

Your wedding was GORGEOUS and the album is beautiful! I was planning on not doing a professional album for our wedding until I saw this post. I think my mind has been changed :) I am, however, currently working on wedding albums for the parents at blurb.com and can't wait to see how they turn out.
ReplyDeleteYou are so freaking gorgeous! I have not done jack crap with our wedding photos. If I was as photogenic as you, young lady, I would have dropped mad cash on albums.
ReplyDeleteI did ours on Shutterfly, but after seeing yours, I may have to give it another go because our just looks sad in comparison. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh wow Kate!!! That is gorgeous!!! We've been married over a year now and I haven't even gotten started thinking about our wedding album. But after seeing yours.... WOW! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou and your wedding were and are gorgeous! I love it! What a great album. We were married by Sam too! I loved him! :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! Your wedding was just totally off the charts perfection. Love.
ReplyDeleteSoo, I've been married 5.5 years and have done nothing with our photos. I only have ONE framed. I KNOW. I actually HATE my wedding photos and that's why I don't display them.
I loved our photographer, he had done excellent work for friends and family and had a bang up portfolio--I'm not entirely sure what happened on our wedding day, but, I don't feel like our photos ever captured it just right. Totally bums me out. I'd get married again just so I could have new pictures!
@Christine - Sam is the BEST! He's actually an old friend of my parents from the 60s! We love him!
ReplyDeleteI will never grow tired of looking at your wedding pictures. They are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJesus, what a gorgeous, gorgeous album. The photos are amazing! Ditto the commenter's post above about not liking her wedding photos. So, so, so not a fan of mine. Such a shame. Wish we could get married all over again so I could have different pictures. But shoot, we can't do that, so I'll work with what we have. After seeing your totally stunning album, I'm much more inspired.
ReplyDelete(FYI - my photographer got us photo books via Blurb. And while I don't love the photos, the book quality is great.)
loooove your wedding and love this album! love love love!
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, most beautiful wedding pics ever!! I love them all, and that book......WOW. LOVE LOVE LOVE
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!! We too waited over a year for our album it is worth more then all the furniture in our living room (wait does that mean I should buy nicer furniture?). I think a good album is forever, and your pictures were gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love love love those. I've been slacking on printing ours....but now... must do
ReplyDeleteWow - what gorgeous photographs! Your wedding was absolutely stunning and the album is gorgeous. Actually, beyond gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOMG, this album is TDF. All of the photos are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love love love it too!!!! Well worth every penny is right. What a fabulous bride & groom and what a talented photographer!
ReplyDeleteLove love love it! I can't wait to get out pictures! I'm looking at you 6+ weeks later photographer lady.
ReplyDeleteKate - these are beautiful!!!! My photographer does a similar album and this makes me all the more excited about it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love the group shot with y'all and the chair in the middle!
ReplyDeletePure perfection!!!! We went the professional route for our own book, but made our parent's books on Shutterfly. In fact, my mom's book JUST arrived!
ReplyDeleteso very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove love love it, too! We also went the professional route and are so glad we did. And I designed Blurb books for our parents, which they are so happy with. Let me know if you need any Blurb bookmaking tips!
ReplyDeleteI love every single bit of it. GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteI think those are the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen!!!
ReplyDeleteOBBBBBSessed. Love all of them. And the Christmas Card seriously made my day! I love you.
ReplyDeleteIt came out AWESOME!! Your wedding was gorgeous! Stacy is fantastic! (I look at our wedding pics like...weekly, just b/c of her work!) Love!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pictures! I am obsessed with my own wedding pictures, and our own album was just something our photographer put together in iPhoto. Our proof book was done that way, too, which I like much more than the standard parade of 4x6es-- I think I probably look at the proof book more than the actual album! I've used both Shutterfly and Qoop (which is/used to be? Flickr's print service), and have had pretty good results with both, though you're probably going to have to pay a little more for nicer covers and interesting layouts. (It will still be WAY more reasonably priced than going with a more traditional album, though!)
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful pictures!! i am note married but i have used blurb to make photo books before and they have turned out really well.
ReplyDeleteso this is random..... i had pictures of your wedding that i used for inspiration for mine!!! (especially the bird cages!) i guess from the knot? and, i've been following your blog for awhile and just now put it together. haha. a little creeepppy.. :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous pictures and album by the way!
Love the format and all of the incredible photos. Your wedding was certainly swoon-worthy!
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI did ours on Shutterfly and it's just not what I expected. I mean, I love the layout but the spine broke after less than six months. SO disappointing. And, I know that now that kids on on the horizon (I hope) it won't get done since we won't spend the money. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteBut yours looks beautiful!
That is an amazing photobook. It looks like your wedding was both beautiful and fun-- a rare mix!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! It looks truly amazing, and I'm so happy that you are thrilled with the way it turned out. The photos really take me back to the whole wedding day and experience. I can't wait to see the album in person!!!
ReplyDeleteI will never tire of posts about your wedding! My fiance and I are having a small, destination wedding, but before we decided on that, your wedding was basically my dream wedding. It looked like such an amazing day, and everything, down to the smallest details, seemed perfect! Also, you made such a gorgeous bride, lady! And I had to laugh at your earlier tweet about your MIL's dress; that WAS a very white dress!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful album. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! We got a professional one from our photographer for us, but I DIY'd it for our parents thru Snapfish.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Kate! And so awesome that you're thrilled with it, that's the most important. Not sure if you're a Mac person, but if you are, I DIY'ed our wedding album using iPhoto. They have an album feature that you can upload directly to Apple to have it printed. I found it infinitely easier/more user friendly/just generally happier than Blurb or any of the online options.
ReplyDeletestunning. i mean it's absolutely perfect. it could not be a better investment. i just hope you're able to put it down and still get work done. i would just sit and look at it all day! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect perfect album. Love all of the pictures and the way the book turned out. You were such a gorgeous bride and you and Evan look so happy!
ReplyDeleteThose really are gorgeous pictures, and the layout is amazing. You must be thrilled. As someone who hated her wedding photographer, you gave me envy :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!! We used Shutterfly for our album (and made duplicates for our parents) - and we love the results, so I recommend them for your parents' albums! Also... soooo good on the wallet!
ReplyDeletePS: I'm very excited about my makeout cameo in one of the pics :-)
Kate, these are GORGEOUS! I made Blurb books for my parents and in laws, but I have done NOTHING for us. This has inspired me!! You were a beautiful bride and you now have a lovely book to help remind you for the rest of your lives :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! This is lighting a fire under my behind to send my photo selections off to my photographer for our album.
