so, last month we went to vegas...

... and I'm just now uploading our photos!

I have to admit, I'm not a Vegas Person.  I much prefer Napa as my Adult Playground.  But I do enjoy bright lights, sparkles, great food, shows, people watching, and - as it turns out - a swanky Sportsbook, so I can't say I was too incredibly disappointed to tag along for my sister-in-law's 21st birthday bash!

We stayed at The Venetian - which we dug to the max!  All the rooms are ginormous suites with insane bathrooms, but the prices are comparable to other "traditional" Strip hotels {Mirage, Hard Rock, MGM, Treasure Island, etc}.   A few shots of the Venetian all decked out for the Chinese New Year: Year of the Rabbit.  {All the hotels were decorated in a similar fashion - very cool to see!}

While I like to think Evs and I are still "hip" {or perhaps that word choice just dashed all hope of maintaining that status?}, we've both done the late-night Vegas club scene several times.  This trip, we preferred the Day-Drinking-Whilst-Power-Walking-the-Strip-&-Lounging-in-the-Bellagio's-Sportsbook-Then-Eating-Our-Faces-Off Tactic.  Age-Appropriate, Yet Fun... that's us! We should get matching t-shirts, for reals.

So sparkly!  Talk about the perfect spot if you're planning a girls' weekend.

Equally fabulous roof-top pool area at the Cosmo... if only it'd been warm enough to sprawl!

Hello, my name is Kate and I'm a cliche.

Um, see?  WE ARE SO FUN & NOT OLD / LAME AT ALL!
{Big Thanks to Kelly who recommended Olives at the Bellagio for a fabulous dinner!
I'm still dreaming about the shaved asparagus salad!}

Perhaps the highlight of our trip... Cirque de Soleil's Beatles Love.  I'd experienced the magic 4 years ago to commemorate mi padre's 60th birthday, but the second time around was just as spectacular!

And that concludes our quick jaunt to the City of Sin!

Are you a "Vegas Person?"

  1. Great photos honey!!! It looks like you had a great time. I haven't been to Vegas in 8 years and I'm only a few hours away! Kori xoxo

  2. Cute pics! I've never done Vegas, as I, too, consider myself not really a "Vegas Person," either, but this post may have changed my mind on that...

    Where is your shirt from in those first few pics? I love the color!

  3. @Mia - the shirt is from Ann Taylor Loft - I think I bought it in January!

  4. Hmmm, I've never been to Vegas, so I guess I'm not a Vegas person. Side note, after you left Friday, we all raved about your skin for about ten minutes. I'm supposed to ask you for more info regarding your routine.

  5. Totally prefer Napa to Vegas, but the food and drink and people watching in Vegas are not bad!

  6. I'm not a huge Vegas person--last time I was there was six years ago for a cousins wedding (I KNOW!), and it was fun and all, but, mehhhh, not for me. Plus, it was freaking December, so, it's not like I could really enjoy the fabulous pool cabanas or anything--which, really, what's the point?

  7. It looks like you had a great time! I'm not a Vegas person in the traditional sense, but your trip was definitely more my speed. (Although, like you, I would take a trip to Napa or Sonoma over Vegas in a heartbeat!)

  8. I'm a Vegas person, but we definitely stay away from the club scene. I just love to walk the strip, shopping, drinking, and checking out all of the swanky hotels. Top it off with a few hours by the pool, a show, and a fabulous dinner and I'm a happy girl!

  9. Can you believe I've never been to Vegas? But if I do go in the future, I would totally fall into the "eat at celebrity restaurants and see spectacular shows" category.

  10. I've been once. I tried to do the daytime shopping, walking, drinking etc.., get back to lay by the pool before dinner, then head out for the night life. No can do! I was in my room by 10 everynight because I was so exhausted. I had too many things on my "must do" list from friends.

  12. I want to see the Cirque Beatles show so badly! I went to Vegas a few years ago, but I'd go back for a weekend just so I can see that show!

  13. I like the food, shopping, & people watching, but I can't stay longer than 48 hours or I start to feel twitchy...

    Where's your bag from? Love!

  14. @EDH - I feel you on the 48 hour time limit! It all becomes too much very quickly! My bag was a gift from Evs several Christmases ago (2, I think?) - It is Marc Jacobs and I believe he purchased it at Saks!

  15. My husband and I headed to Vegas last weekend for a quick getaway. It was our first time there. We found out real quick we aren't Vegas people. Glad to get away, but not dying to go back. Cosmopolitan was the most amazing hotel! Loved the Chandelier Bar!
