O... or A?

Well, tomorrow's the day.

QuesitO or QuesitA?

That's the Million Dollar Question.

Picture1

To be brutally honest with you, I think everyone else is more excited than I over the novelty of he vs. she.

With friends' children, I am giddy with anticipation - practically jumping out of my skin - when the announcements are made... I want to know each and every detail that follows such a big revelation... What will the nursery look like?  What will the name be?

For this child - my child - it doesn't seem to matter much.  My hopes don't depend on a pronoun, nor will my dreams for this littler person change at the words "it's a ____!"

I'm holding my breath for "it's a strong heart... it's a perfect set of lungs."

Maybe for the first time in my over-achieving life, my wish-list begins and ends with Normal.

I mean, the creation and birth of a child... Does it get more simultaneously mundane and miraculous than that?

  1. I am super excited for you guys! I think what you're feeling must be a common mom feelings, because I've heard similar thoughts from other mothers to be! Good Luck tomorrow and I can't wait to hear the news!

  3. "Does it get more simultaneously mundane and miraculous than that?" I think not:). I remember I could only listen to Van Morrison in the first weeks of my daughter's life. Seemed like an appropriate soundtrack for a miracle.

  6. I just found your blog through Emily's, and it looks like we have a lot in common! My husband and I are expecting our first child in late March!

I'm very excited to find out the sex of our baby...but mostly just so that I can start buying him or her clothes, haha. Good luck at the appointment!

  7. SO EXCITING! It's amazing to see how much the baby has grown during each ultrasound appointment. At our 20 week, we were amazed to see that little BoB actually looked like a real baby!

  10. I share your thoughts exactly. My MIL cried, CRIED, when she heard we were having a boy. Wtf?! It's a healthy, happy little blessing you crazy wench.

  11. I cannot believe that tomorrow's the day! Praying for a healthy, growing, and not entirely modest baby so that you can tell if it's an O or A hiding out in there ;) I just can't believe the u/s is already tomorrow! Happy scanning, enjoy seeing your quesito/a on the tv! xo

  13. You're not alone among my friends who thought they'd be more anxious to find out the sex when the big day rolled around. That said, I'll be playing the role of Obnoxiously Overexcited Friend tomorrow... prepare yourself!

  14. I am excited to find out! But I hear you on the "normal"...when the high-risk OB I had to go to called my baby "boring", it was the best news ever.

  19. Tomorrow is the big day! Yeah.

I am counting down the days until I am 20 weeks to see my little one. We waited to find out with our first, and I am due again in April with our second...and we are waiting. I prayed so hard the weeks before I could see our little one for a normal heart, lungs, brain size, etc. This time around, I took in the first ultra sound and seeing that tiny heart beat and thought to myself...how can you not believe that is a miracle! It just takes my breath away.

I can't wait to read your post of...Our baby is a boy or girl. "It" has always bugged me. I am guessing a healthy baby girl.

  20. Very exciting! I think I'll be the same way. I get really excited about finding out the sex of a baby I don't even know way more than ones I do know.
