nye help!

okay girlies, i need your fashion expertise!

for NYE, Evs and i are headed to a party thrown by my dear RJB and her boyfriend at his ranch. i want to look festive, but obviously a cocktail dress is an impractical choice for a ranch party. i was thinking this polka dot top with dark skinny jeans and black riding boots.however, i also have this little number, courtesy of the J. Crew Winter Sale.my question is: will the jacket over the top be too much going on? i kinda was hoping the combo would be fabulous but i fear i will i look like coco chanel after one too many glasses of bubbly...

thoughts? questions? concerns?

what are your NYE plans and/or outfit choices?

  1. Ugh I have the same dilemma! Can you take a picture of the top under the jacket & post it?
Also... WHERE did you get the polkadot shirt? (it looks so familiar...?) I might need one! :)

  5. I think the jacket is fabulous!! And, if you fear that you look like Coco Chanel after too many glasses of bubbly, you can take it off--but, it's NYE, it's a party night, go big. And, um, totally jealous of a party at a ranch. Me and the hubs are trying to find last minute cheapie hotel rooms in Austin or San Antonio for a few days, but, no luck... yet!

  6. Not that I know you--but I feel like that polka dot shirt is so you! And, yes--can you post a pic of the shirt under the top?

  7. I don't think "too much" really comes into play on NYE.

  9. I love that top and it would look great with skinny jeans and riding boots. GREAT choice. I think the jacket might be a but much for a ranch party!

  11. I love them both! I would need to see a picture of the top under the jacket. I'm not the best at putting together prints, but it is all pretty neutral so I say go for it.

  13. I like to operate by the rule of "Always be the person most dressed up, never the least dressed up." I think it's going to look fabulous together!
