hair-tastic

so my hair trial is about 5 weeks away (hopefully enough for another inch to grow in on my chop-job) and i've been squirreling away some ideas... i want something soft and not "done" but also not something that is going to fall down during hours of geeky-white-girl-arm-flailing... er, dancing. i also have to think about my veil and the subsequent flower/feather hair piece that will replace it during the reception.

thoughts?

my makeup trial is the same day as the hair... this is pretty much the vendor that i am most nervous about. not because i'm concerned about the artist (stylist? makeup dudette?) but because i have absolutely hated every single professional make up job i've ever recieved. i always end up washing it off and doing it myself. i love this look below, though - although i'm not sure with my coloring... uggg. hopefully the artist / stylist / dudette will know how to make me look glowing and luminous and all those other good bride descriptives.

  1. funny enough I had a lot of these same pictures saved as my "inspiration hair" pics!!! I love the soft low bun look!!
And I was totally freaked out too, but I thought it turned out beautifully!

  2. I also had a few of those saved and my hairdo ended up being combo of a couple... I wish I knew how to post a picture in a comment, I'd show you! :)

  4. The first and third are my faves - I'm going low bun too - it's like the opposite of the bridezilla hairstyle. Plus, the less "done" it is, the less "undone" it will look after all that arm flailing. ;-)

  6. I had like 17 trials. I HATED EVERYONE THAT DID MY HAIR AND MAKEUP. It worked out eventually, but was so stressful.

  7. Beautiful hairstyles.

Will you post photos of your trial?

    I'd love to see them!

  12. I love the low bun look of them all. but I LOVE the 2nd one. I had my make-up done by 4 different places before I found one I liked. It was actually at Sephora. I have to do my make-up myself, but I needed someone to pick colors and show me what they did. I'm way too picky about my mascara to let anyone even try to mess with my eyelashes. Good luck!!

  14. I love the first and third picture. Just be honest with the stylist. I think if you added some volume to the top and did kinda of a chignon style. I'm going to do something similar then add braids to "funk" it up. You have great style....make sure to post pictures when you are done.

  15. I love all of those hair shots, and I'm not just (only) saying that because I as Bridey too wore a low bun with fresh flowers in it.

Good luck with the makeup trial; I dreaded that too. My only thought is to speak up during the trial if you don't like something . . . if you're anything like me & tend to sit there while they do something you don't like, that is!

PS - Thanks for the Austin tips - that almost makes up for my missing the Dallas dinner & top-secret operation this weekend!

  16. I love all of them! I think I have a few of those saved on my computer, too. This one is my new favorite, if you want to add another to the mix! -- http://tinyurl.com/8j9h2h

  17. I like #3 or #4 because I think they look the least "done" and i think will look the best on you. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a good makeup shot on a blondie.
