cutie-patootie

okay my little exercise divas (especially you long distance runners / walkers out there) - anyone have experience with the "Bonita" running skirts and dresses from New Balance?

i'm a-thinkin' that if i'm going to walk 60 freakin' miles, i might as well look good doing it! but you know... comfort and functionality... i guess those are important as well... boo.

so any reviews would be much appreciated!

  1. I'm a big fan of the dress. As long as it's not paired with a visor.

  5. that's awesome about the 3 day walk.

I've never worn a running skirt, but i've heard mixed reviews. In case you were wondering, runner's world reviewed a bunch last summer, article posted here: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-369-371--12738-0,00.html?cm_mmc=Mag_URL-_-2008_August-_-Skirt_Culture-_-Skirt_Reviews

  6. I live in running skirts. Whether its 1 mile or 20 miles, running skirts kick running shorts' arse. However, the dress might be too much?? Not gonna lie, I've lusted over one, but it seems a bit over the top...

  7. Well I dont have any 1st hand exp with them but ummm im loving that purple dress! I was getting a pedicture the other day and a mom walked in with a pink skirt white shirt, white hat with a pink logo, white socks with the same pink logo. Most would think bleh, but I said kudos to her (in my head) for being the cute tennis mom!

  8. I work at a private school so I see a ton of chic and fit moms wearing these. I covet, but I need to trim down a bit before I can get away with it. Do you have a shoe strategy? I would think after 20 miles a day you might want to wear different pairs to prevent fatigue? Since I'm recently a gym rat I would love some workout clothing style suggestions. Maybe a good fashionista vista topic?

  9. Athleta or whatever it's name is has cute running skirts. I bought some things from this to go skiing this year and was impressed by the quality. I think they're now owned by Gap/BR/ON.

  10. Kati, I have strong opinions. So if you don't mind the gust here it is: skirts are unnecessary when it comes to exertorture. Further more on long, long runs or walks the last thing you want to be reminded of is your clothing. Fly away shorts don't touch you. These have lycra all up in em, so they'll touch you no matter what. If you're not hitting the courts, lose the skirt.
